New figures have shown more than 150 people have signed up to join the party in Wiltshire since Polling Day as the Liberal Democrat fightback begins.
Cllr Jon Hubbard said: “I have been overwhelmed by the number of people who have joined the Liberal Democrats to help campaign door-to-door in Wiltshire since Thursday.
“This party is far from dead and buried. We’re fighting back and recruiting people who have never joined a party, but want to stand together against the things this Tory government is already planning to do.
“They also recognise the hard work our activists campaigners, Councillors and MP do for their local communities and the difference they can and have made.”
Across the UK, membership of the party has now risen to 57,008 with 12,078 people joining since Thursday.
