Taxi Fares could rise in 'Harmonisation'

9.18.00am GMT Fri 15th Jan 2010

On 15 January Wiltshire Council (WC) will be consulting all taxi and private hire vehicle drivers in Wiltshire by post. This is part of the "harmonisation" process for this service.

The four fares systems over the old district council areas need to be made the same over the whole of Wiltshire.

Letters, questionnaires and a full set of consultation documents are being sent out to all 1200 taxi and private hire drivers across the county. Letters and questionnaires are also being sent out to 600 peoples' voice survey respondents as well as user groups.

If you'd like a copy of the documents contact Bradley Road Trowbridge (01225 776655).

The consultation process finishes on the 12 March.

For more information about the process contact either Kate Golledge, Licensing Manager (north and west) on 01249 706687 or Sam Colley, Licensing Manager (south and east) on 01380 734883.
