The District Council have started a programme of hedge maintenance starting with the footpath running between Bolts Croft and Webbington Road.

Many residents were unhappy with the Councils proposals and Sylvia and John arranged a site meeting between residents and officers, where a compromise was reached, which was to cut the hedge down to a height of 9 feet.

This programme includes the planting of over 100 hedging plants as infill. Sylvia and john would encourage local residents to keep an eye on them and care for them in the dry weather by giving them a drop of water.

Work was able to be carried out before the growing season and is now complete for this year. The next phase will be the hedgerow from Webbington Road down to the play area at the bottom of Blackwellhams.
