Waiting for a decision on the controversial Kingston Mills development is trying the patience of Bradford on Avon's residents.

Lib Dem spokesman, Duncan Hames, recently wrote to Wiltshire's Tory-run county council to complain that it had taken their highways team over 300 days to send their final conclusions to the district council planning office. "The delays to the handling of this major application are undermining any faith residents of Bradford on Avon may have in their local government" wrote the Lib Dem prospective MP for the area.

Following the letter, the County Council's response is now in, and a special meeting of the Planning Committee is eagerly awaited later this summer.

Local Lib Dem councillor, Janet Repton, is concerned that the town should not be let down by poorly prepared councillors at the meeting. "There are several new councillors on the committee, most of whom are not from Bradford. It is vital that they visit the site to properly understand this major development." says Cllr Repton
