The Prospective MP for Chippenham, Duncan Hames, has won the backing of ex-Lib Dem leader, Charles Kennedy MP.

Charles was in the area to speak at the Devizes Literary Festival and took the opportunity to meet Duncan Hames who will be fighting the new seat of Chippenham at the next general election.

The seat, which has been created after boundary changes, has a Lib Dem majority over the conservatives and will be contested for the Lib Dems by Mr Hames who said: "It was a pleasure to meet Charles. He is a popular figure in our party and it is great to have his support."
