Paul Batchelor and Roger Coveney to contest Warminster By-elections2.15.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 14th Oct 2006
Local campaigners Paul Batchelor and Roger Coveney have been selected by Warminster Liberal Democrats to contest the Warminster West by-elections to Wiltshire County Council and West Wiltshire District Council caused by the resignation of Independent John Syme. Paul Batchelor lives and works in Warminster and his two daughters go to Kingdown School. He is acutely aware of issues facing Warminster. Paul is currently Chairman of West Wiltshire District Council. "If, with your help, I an be elected as your county councillor on November 2nd, I pledge to work to put the needs of Warminster high on the County Council agenda - in everything from schools to roads, public safety, health and social care." say Lib Dem Paul Batchelor. Roger Coveney was born in Bath and has lived in Warminster for over twenty years. Roger has been chair of his local residents association and treasurer of a ratepayers action group. Roger is committed to working hard for local residents as a district councillor for Warminster West.
