Lib Dems launch voter registration drive9.17.00pm GMT Tue 15th Feb 2005 Cllr Duncan Hames is urging people to register to vote If the General Election is called on 5 May 2005, the deadline for registering to vote will be 11 March. Local councillor Duncan Hames and the Liberal Democrats are launching a last minute drive to ensure that Wiltshire residents don't lose their chance to vote. Commenting, Duncan Hames said: "There are barely 5,000 votes between the Lib Dems and Michael Howard's Conservative Party in the Westbury constituency, and with a growing population in this area a net 7,500 extra people since the last election are now registered to vote. In this constituency every vote will count. New residents since last Autumn may not yet be registered to vote, but by completing a simple form before March 11th, they can make sure they don't miss out." The Liberal Democrats will be providing registration forms to residents when out canvassing over the next few weeks. You can download an electoral registration form by visiting the 'About My Vote' website, and sending the completed printed copy to your local district council.
