The people of Melksham have voted overwhelmingly against the Conservative plans to scrap the town centre Library and Youth Centre.
94% of the vote was against the proposition to move the Library and Youth Centre out of the town centre.

The decision to make the Head of Internal Audit redundant means Wiltshire Council could be operating without scrutiny, say Lib Dem Councillors.
Councillor Chris Caswill, a Lib Dem Audit Committee Member, said “Charitably, I’d say the redundancy of the Head of this well-functioning, essential department, is an issue of gross incompetence on the part of the Conservative Administration.

Council Chief Exec drops pay rise after sustained Lib Dem pressure

Under sustained pressure from the people of Wiltshire, Council Chief Executive Andrew Kerr has declined the pay rise offered to him by Wiltshire’s Conservative Administration.
“I’m delighted Andrew’s taken this sensible step of declining his pay rise.
