4 Million reasons why the Conservatives to apologise to Wiltshire

The annoucement today of a massive round of redundancies totalling £4m per year in salary costs at Wiltshire Council has been blasted by Lib Dem leader Jon Hubbard.

"Not once was this mentioned by the Conservatives during the election period, " Jon commented.

Outrage as secret decision to scrap funding for youth projects is outed

Liberal Democrats today expressed shock and outrage as it was announced that promised revenue funding to supporting continuing essential programmes for young people was being withdrawn.

In February the Conservative administration in County Hall announced that Area Boards in Wiltshire would only be allowed to fund capital projects in the following year.

Jon Hubbard re-elected Lib Dems leader at Wiltshire Council

Jon Hubbard has been elected leader of Wiltshire Council's Liberal Democrats for a further year following the group's annual meeting at County Hall on Saturday (May 4th) following this years Unitary elections.

The Melksham South councillor was first elected to the post three years ago and led the group to the best Lib Dem result in the country on 2nd May.

Overpriced council car parks cost £180,000 to lay empty

The Wiltshire Liberal Democrats have revealed that Wiltshire Council's empty and expensive car parks are costing Council Taxpayers money, whilst making shoppers stay away from our town centres. In 2012/13 the Liberal Democrats put a fully-costed plan to Wiltshire Council to reintroduce 1 hour free car parking.

190,700 in Wiltshire will get Income Tax cut in April

Commenting on the raising of the Personal Allowance further than already planned, Jon Hubbard said:

Lib Dems Secure U-Turn on Crisis Payments to Most Vulnerable

Liberal Democrats on Wiltshire Council made an impassioned plea to stop Wiltshire's Cabinet stopping 'crisis loans', an essential life line for Wiltshire's most vulnerable.

Speaking at Wiltshire Council Cabinet today, Cllr Jon Hubbard, Leader of the Wiltshire Liberal Democrats, made an impassioned plea on behalf of those who could not afford to feed their children this month.
